TRIBUTE TO KENNETH DUANE CONREY
Ken passed into glory in 2006
This tribute is dedicated to the Life of Kenneth Duane Conrey who in November 2006 departed from this earthly realm and into the presence of the Lord of Glory, to forever be with his Savior whom he loved and served with his whole heart over the last thirty two and a half years.
Ken is survived by his wife Linda Conrey, and his children, Jeremiah Conrey, Joshua Conrey, Jamison Conrey, Stacy Conrey and Kimberly Conrey, as well as six grandchildren.
Ken Conrey was a man who loved God with all of his heart, soul, mind and strength.
He loved his family dearly, and sought to lead them in the ways of the Lord.
He loved others, and always sought to help or serve them in any way he could to make their lives easier, and to show them the love of God.
He loved nations, and preached the gospel in the U.S.A, Mexico, El Salvador, Guatemala, Venezuela, Guyana, Suriname, Trinidad & Tobago, Ivory Coast, Kenya and South Africa.
Ken pressed toward the mark of the prize of the high calling in God by Christ Jesus. He strove to share Jesus Christ, and God's love and plan of salvation with everyone that came across his path. Ken took the blessed opportunity to personally lead many people to faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.
The Word of God was Ken's standard for his life. All that he lived, and believed, was rooted in the Word of God. Ken also sought to teach the principles of God to those he met in his life's journey, patiently teaching them how to come into a more abundant life, through faith in Jesus Christ, his word, the blessing that comes with joyful obedience to the word of God. Ken's passion was to win souls for the Kingdom of God.
Ken's life was a living testimony of the truth of the principles of God's Word. He loved it, he believed it, and he lived it.
Ken's life was a gift from the Lord to those who knew him. His genuine love was like a magnet which drew people to him. God used Ken to touch a multitude of people, and to help them change their lives in a positive way.
Greatly loved and sorely missed, our lives are richer by having known this wonderful, compassionate servant of the Lord. Pastor Ken is no longer with us, but the impact he had on the lives of so many will live on for generations to come. Eternity will have a different outcome for so many, because they have known Ken, and his impact on their lives made a difference for them. Ken's life was like a fork in the road, whenever people met Ken, they had to make a decision of whom they would serve.
Ken lived life to the fullest, he was a hard worker, a passionate type of person that did everything with his whole heart. This was evident in his family life, his ministry, his music, his calling.
In ministry he was an awesome teacher of the Word of God. He had the ability to take a topic from the word of God, and show the tread of that topic from Genesis to Revelation. He also had the ability to know how to apply those principles to our lives as believers, and yet teach it in such a way, that even a child could understand it. He was truly gifted by the Lord to teach others.
Ken had a love for children, whether his own, or other peoples, he loved to play games, and chase them about, laughing and enjoying the blessing of each child he encountered. In so doing they were always open to hear about how much God loved them, and had a plan for their lives.
No matter where we were in the world, as we carried out the work of the Lord, Ken was always surrounded by the local children. They always had smiles on their faces as he quickly won their hearts, confidence and friendship. Ken was a world changer. Always leaving behind the effects of a God-given love for the people he met.
Ken has served as President of Redemption Ministries (International) since 1995. Now that he has been promoted to the glories of heaven, his wife, Linda Conrey has now taken up the mantle of the ministry, which she and her husband started together. She is well qualified, because God has called her, and she had the honor of Ken being her mentor. Ken was her dearest friend, and in her opinion the greatest husband, lover, and bible teacher that ever lived.
Ken had the vision, and laid the groundwork for a ministry that will continue...
Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die it abideth alone, but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit. John 12:24
We are believing that all the love, labor, vision, hopes and dreams that the Lord had placed in Ken's heart while on this earth, shall indeed come to pass. We trust that even as Ken's life has been very fruitful, that this fruitfulness shall continue until the coming of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, at which time all of us who belong to Christ shall be reunited, and shall forever be together in eternity, enjoying life eternal with our Lord, and one another.
