MISSION UPDATE; EL SALVADOR, OCTOBER 17-25, 2006
A team of 6 Americans, and a mix of 21 El Salvadorian & Guatemalan brothers and sisters came together to complete an assignment from the Lord.
Three villages were on the agenda, El Porvenir, La Ceiba, and Agua Fria. We traveled through heavy rains, floods and over mountains to reach our destinations.
The team was transported in 3 pick up trucks. The majority of the team rode in the beds of the trucks, exposed to the weather, enduring the cold wind and piercing rain as we traveled for hours, to reach the harvest fields of the Lord.
As we entered each village, we worked with a local pastor, and volunteers from his church. These volunteers were prepared to lead our team members to families in the village, who did not know Jesus as their Lord and Savior.
As we entered a home, we would share with them the good news of eternal life through faith in Jesus Christ, and that by receiving his forgiveness for their sins through repentance, how they could have a living relationship with the God who created them.
As the good news of the gospel was shared the Holy Spirit of God would work on the hearts of the people. Some would see their need for the Savior, and would pray to receive Jesus Christ as their Lord and Master, repenting of their sins, and opening themselves up to the love of God in their hearts.
We would like to say that all the people we visited made the same decision, but this was not the case. However, the Word of God does not return void, it will accomplish that it has been sent to do, so for those who did not come to saving faith in Christ, at this time, we know, we have planted the seed of the Word of God in their lives, and trust the Lord will water that seed in their hearts, and will one day bring forth a harvest of salvation and forgiveness in their lives.
After we ministered to each family, regardless of their decision to accept or reject Jesus Christ, if we saw they had needs, we would give them a ticket for food, and another ticket for clothing, which could be received at appointed times at the church. Between the clothing and food distributions there was an evangelistic service, which we invited all to attend.
Our team collectively, had the honor of seeing 113 people come to faith in Jesus Christ while in the beautiful country of El Salvador.
We faced many challenges along the way, but God was faithful. Because of the exposure to the weather, every American team member dealt with flu like symptoms, but the Lord brought us through it all victoriously, and recoveries came quickly. He is our healer.
We rejoice, and give praise and thanks to God, for the precious souls, that have come into the Kingdom of God. Jesus said in Mark 16:15- Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. When we obey this command of the Lord, he will work with us, and confirm his word with signs following, even as he did for his early disciples.
We want to give a special thanks to all those who have helped support our mission work. You are also a partaker of the rewards of the Lord for every soul that has come into the Kingdom of God, and we will have all eternity to rejoice in the Goodness of the Lord. God bless you all.

MISSION UPDATE: NEW YORK CITY, SEPTEMBER 2, 2006
Greetings from New York City,
This is our 10th day in the city that never sleeps, and we have not been getting much sleep ourselves! We are staying with Pastor Steven Mohan, and his wife Shirley who pastor the Evangel Tabernacle of New York.
We have been involved in street ministry, passing out tracts and flyers, and for those who take the time to talk, sharing the message of salvation. It's usually those who are sick or injured that have the time to listen, as we minister to them, and pray for them. New York is a fast paced city, and people have their own agendas to fulfill. However, even though they are busy most will take the tracts and flyers we are offering. After prayer, planting the Word of God into peoples hearts, is the first step to reaping a harvest: so this week we have been sowing alot of spiritual seed to the people of New York.
We have had opportunity to minister at New Haven Ministries & Evangel Tabernacle in Richmond Hill, and Grace Evangelistic Ministries in Queens.
We have met new friends here in NYC that have been a blessing and encouragement to us. Pastor Mohan and his wife have had up to 13 guests in there home at one time, aside from their own immediate family, while we have been here, so there has been a lot of fellowship, noise, good food, lively discussions concerning the things of God, and opportunities for all to give and take and minister to one another.
Ken and I will have the opportunity to have some television taping done this Monday, with a local pastor, so it will be interesting to see what the Lord may do with this open door.
We love you all and would appreciate your prayers for us, and the people and ministries of New York.
Love and Blessings,
Ken and Linda Conrey
MISSION UPDATE; NEW YORK CITY, AUGUST 24, 2006
Greetings from New York City, in the New Richmond, and Queens areas. We will be ministering at the Evangel Tabernacle with Pastor Steven Mohan, and Grace Through Faith Ministries with Pastor Dave Rajoon, through September 4th.
We are also involved in street evangelism, walking the streets, passing out tracts, and sharing Jesus and the message of salvation with the people of New York.
As many of you know, NYC is a melting pot of multitudes of nations. People from all over the world live in NYC. It has been to our advantage to have traveled to so many nations in the Caribbean, because many of the people here, in the areas where we are currently ministering, are from the nations of Guyana and Trinidad. Therefore, we can strike up a conversation, on common ground so to speak, with them about their homelands, and actually understand and relate to many of the things they will share with us, because we have been there. This connection causes a warmth between us almost immediately, when they realize that we not only care about them, but are willing to travel at great expense to go and minister to the lands of their birth.
Many times the people we meet here in NYC have family ties with people we know in the Caribbean nations, so we not only speak with them about their homelands, but about their families and friends, many of whom we have actually met abroad. This is such a wonderful blessing.
Our goal is to share Jesus and the message of salvation with as many people as possible, and to minister to the saints as well, while we are here.
We do appreciate your prayers, as we seek to be use of the Lord, in NYC. God bless you all.
Ken & Linda
MISSION UPDATE: USA, August 4, 2006
We arrived home July 21st, though our thoughts were still very much with the people we had just left behind in South America.
We will spend a few weeks reorganizing ourselves, and then we will be in the New York City Area later this month, for more details please check our calander page.
MISSION UPDATE: Guyana, July 20, 2006
We have spent the last 10 days, once again in the village of Bloomfield, in the Corentyne/Berbice area of Guyana.
This particular part of our mission trip proved to be a real joy to our hearts. There are times when the Lord just allows you to really connect with certain people, and the relationships begin to really grow into a deeper level. This happened with the precious people in Bloomfield.
We want to give a special thanks to Pastor Sammy, his family, the saints at Praise Tabernacle, as well as to the new friends in Village 63, and New Amsterdam. We were blessed to be in your presence. Your encouragements toward us are priceless. We love you all. May the Lord's richest blessings be upon you, in Jesus Name.
MISSION UPDATE: Suriname, July 10, 2006
We have just returned from Suriname, where we had intended to spend a time frame of 2 & 1/2 weeks, going into the Amerindian villages of the interior. However, we had to cut our time short, due to schedule changes with our contact person in that area.
We did have opportunity to minister in the city of Nickerie, the fishing village of Boskamp, and the interior village of Donderskamp. We also made short visits to the interior villages of Brometville, and Corneliuskondre.
Reaching each village takes hours of travel by road or by river, and can be very tiring, by the time we reach our destination. But God is always so faithful to bless us for the effort, as we see him reach out to hearts with his compassion and mercy, to deliver his chosen ones from the hand of the enemy.
The focus of teaching on this mission trip has been on "Godly Character". The more places we go, the more we see the need for God's people to live their lives in a way that brings glory, and not disgrace, to the Name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
There are times when correction needs to be administered to the churches, and even it's leadership. It always brings joy to our hearts when correction is received, and people truly turn back to the Lord, and serve him with their whole heart. On the other hand it is very grievious when people, we're talking about God's people, refuse to deal with the areas of their life that need to change, and thus they shut the very blessing, and presence of God out of their lives, that they need so desperately.
In John 10:10, Jesus said, "The thief comes but for to steal, to kill, and to destroy, but I have come to give you life, and that more abundantly."
We desire to see the body of Christ truly come into that abundant life that that Jesus gave his very lifes' blood to purchase for us.
While in Donderskamp, two young people came forward for delilverance of devils. Spirits of lust and perversion had taken hold of these young people, and as they came forward for deliverance, the enemy resisted violently, but in the end, as always the Lord gives the victory to hearts that are willing to surrender to him, and want to be free of the enemies strongholds.
The enemy of our souls does not care how he destroys people, but he is going after the young people, and this is one reason why believers must learn from the Word of God, how to live their lives as Godly examples, so we can minister life to those around us, and mentor the young ones who are looking for answers to life's questions.
We have had the opportunity to see & hear many pray to recieve Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. Please pray for these special ones that the Lord will continue to move in their lives, and that they will grow more and more in the grace of God to walk out this new life they have asked him for.
We have now returned to Bloomfield Village in Guyana, where we will remain, until time to return home. The next several days will be busy ones. As always prayer is appreciated.
Thank you for all your support, we love you all dearly.
Ken and Linda Conrey
MISSION UPDATE: Guyana, June 30, 2006
We have just spent the last several days in Bloomfield Village, located in the Berbice/Corentyne area of Guyana, with our dear friend, Pastor Sammy. We always feel so welcomed when we come to work with this precious brother, in the Lord.
We have had opportunity to minister in 3 different churches in New Amsterdam, Village 63, and Bloomfield. The people really love the way Ken ministers as he incorporates skits into the message, to capture their attention and encourage their understanding of the spiritual principles of the Kingdom of God. They also really appreciate the Worship Dance. The Lord is havesting souls from these meetings, as people come to receive Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior; For this we give God praise. July 1st, we travel to Suriname for a two & a half week time of ministry. Prayers Appreciated.
MISSION UPDATE: Guyanan, June 24, 2006
Blessings in the wonderful name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. We are again updating from Guyana. Since our last update, we have been ministering in the villages of Better Hope, Mahaika, and Mahaika Creek.
We spent time teaching the saints The Principles Of The Kingdom Of God. Topics such as:
Power & Authority, The Power Of The Name Of Jesus, The Power Of The Blood Of Jesus, The Power Of Forgiveness, Jesus Came To Restore It All, Walking Worthy Of The Calling, The Last Days.
Our time here has not been without challanges. Ken encountered some type of sickness, that caused him to have very sore muscles & joints, headache, and an extremely high fever. This was opportunity to use the Power Of Jesus Name! We began to pray, speaking the Word Of God over the situation, and commanding the sickness to leave in Jesus Name. In a very short period of time, Ken was completely delivered. The sickness began to lift as he stood up to preach the Word of God, and shortly thereafter the fever broke completely. God is so good. Since then we have heard other reports of people having the same symptoms. When they have gone to the doctor, the suspect problem is Typhoid or Malaria. But Praise God, he is our healer, and our redeemer, and he has shown himself strong. We are walking in health. Apparently Typhoid has been a problem in these areas, when there'a alot of flooding.
When we spent time in the river village of Biaboo, on Mahakia Creek, they had just recently come through a difficult time of flooding. Some people had to leave their homes, and have now returned.
Our time is Mahaika Creek was a special delight. In Biaboo, it was mostly a population of people of East Indian decent. They took us into their community, and were so generous & kind, sharing whatever they had with us.
We had opportunity to minister at the Baiboo Government School. The Headmaster, as well as the teachers were Hindu, but they received us warmly. The Headmaster inparticular was very touched by our ministry, and told us that ANYTIME, we are in Mahaika creek, that we are to plan to minister in his school. The reason this was such an incredible opportunity was because most of this area is Muslim & Hindu, and yet we are being offered a forum to reach the next generation through the schools. Many of the children prayed along, when given an opportunity to receive Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. What Joy!!
In Mahaika creek, the land is very fertile, therefore many of the people who live there are farmers. They are hard working people. When they harvest their crops, they send them to many of the markets of Guyana. Their main crop is Bora, which is a very long green bean, and is a common vegetable in this region. Watermelons, coconuts and pineapples were also in abundance.
We've become one with these people, in a very short period of time. They are part of the precious family of God. We intend to return at a future date, as the Lord would lead.
We leave tomorrow for the village of Bloodfield, in the Berbice/Corentyne area, and will be there for 5 days. We trust the Lord will allow us to be a blessing to the people in that area. Until next time God bless you.
MISSION UPDATE: Guyana, June 13, 2006
Greetings from the nation of Guyana. Our last update was sent to you just before we left Trinidad. We arrived in Guyana on May 30th, but this is the first time we have had access to internet services.
Upon our arrival to Georgetown on May 30th, we were expecting to be picked up by our host family. We waited for an hour or so, and realized they were not coming to pick us up. So, we eventually hired a taxi to take us to their home, only to find nobody there and the house locked up tight. Well, what's a body to do in this situation?? Our taxi driver left and there we were dropped like an abandoned baby on the doorstep, where we had obviously been forgotten about. That will really stir up the desire for prayer I'll tell you. It's amazing how the Lord will allow you to be put into situations because he wants to do something, that maybe was not on your agenda.
It so happened that the taxi driver who carried us to the village of Eccles happened to know the man that was supposed to meet us, and knew exactly where he lived, so he graciously assisted us. As we traveled the hour long ride, we learned he was a muslim. We had opportunity to share the gospel with him. It was a funny thing, but we learned he had also transported other ministers of God, from Trinidad that we know personally, to the same home. Funny how the Lord will work on a heart to draw one soul to himself, and then send person after person to minister to that lost one. God had this man there to meet our need, and we hope that he will come to see that the Lord had us there to meet his need also. He did not receive Christ as his Lord and Savior at that time, but we raised some challenging questions to him that he had no answers for in his own system of belief.
Finally, a distant family member happened by the house and saw us perched on the doorstep. Ken playing his guitar, and me munching anything I could find in my snack supply to stave off the hunger that was making my belly scream. He stopped and enquired and then realized he knew us, and went and brought his mom and sister to the house, and they graciously let us in, and were very hospitable to care for us while we were there for 2 days, planning to go into the interior jungle villages.
After reorganizing our things, and leaving behind what was not needed for our 11 day trip into the jungle, we left on June 1st for the Amerindian Village of Wakapoa. Brother Lloyd met us, and we start our 6 & 1/2 hour travel to his village. After traveling in a car taxi, a riverboat taxi, another car taxi, and then a 2 & 1/2 hour trip up the Pomeroon river and into Wakapoa, we finally reach our destination about 4:00 p.m.
It's currently the rainy season in Guyana, and the rivers are very high. The savannahs are flooded, and it rains day and night. Did we get wet, YES!! Over the 11 days.
