Upon arriving in Guyana, we made our way to the interior. Amerindian village of Wakapoa, which was an all day trip from Georgetown traveling by car, and river taxi, like these you see here.
Crossing the Esiquibo River can be a bumpy ride at times.. We were met by a rain shower before reaching the other side.
Because most of the Amerindian Villages we go to . are located on the rivers, the mode of transportation is almost alway by boat or canoe. It's just a lovely part of their culture.
Brother Lloyd came to meet us in Georgetown. and transported us to Wakapoa. We traveled from Charity to Wakapoa in his personal boat, with the help of a 15 horsepower motor.
