God's Plan of Salvation
If you were to die today do you know what would happen to you? This is probably the most important question you have to ask yourself in this lifetime.
Do you consider yourself to be a good person? Have you ever stolen anything, or lied? Have you ever looked at someone with lust?
The bible says in Romans 3:23 that everyone has sinned before, and come short of God standard, which is perfection.
If you broke a law and had to go to court, then once you appeared before the judge you would have to pay a penalty for your crime. The bible says in Romans 6:23 that there is a penalty for our sins, and that penalty is death, that means when you die you would go to Hell.
Imagine if someone paid that penalty for you. The Bible says in Romans 5:8 that God demonstrated his love toward us by having Jesus die on the cross in our place.
In order to receive this free gift of eternal life from God you have to repent (which means turn from your sins), and by faith believe that Jesus died on the cross for your sins.
Romans 10:9-10 says.
That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
Here is a short prayer you can say if you would like.
Lord Jesus, I know that I am a sinner. I ask you to forgive my sins. I accept you as my Lord and Savior.
If you truly meant these words then you are now a Christian and a part of Gods household. You should find a good church that teaches you about the bible, and let someone know about your decision today.
One of the things that Jesus told those that followed him to do is to get baptized. Now getting baptized does not get you into Heaven, but it lets people see that you have made a decision to follow Jesus.
